The Ridnauntal, idyllic side valley – peaceful and unspoilt

Almarett B&B is located in Mareit, in the Ridnauntal valley (or Val Ridanna in Italian). At 18 kilometres, it is the longest of the three valleys in the Ratschings holiday area and was formed by the Übeltalferner glacier – the largest in the Stubai Alps. The same glacier is also the source of the Fernerbach stream, which in its lower course is fed by the Ratschinger stream and, near Gasteig, the Jaufentaler stream. At the outermost edge of the villages of Gasteig and Mareit (at an altitude of approx. 1,035 m), the flat and broad valley begins to climb, and leads via the hamlet of Gasse to Ridnaun, where it widens again towards the head of the valley.
